You're Invited

Hey everyone,

You're invited to see how I make a secluded embossed area on my cardstock. In the card above I wanted a polka dot stripe within the borders of the card. You can use this technique for many different application but this is the simplest in design because it is a straight boxed area.

Take your card front and place it into your embossing folder so that the front of the card touches the depressed dotted side of the folder that says SIZZIX and the back of your card touches the side with no writing. Turn the folder over so you are seeing the back with no writing.

Lightly press a stylus or other rounded instrument into the area that would create the polka dot EXACTLY where you want your design to be embossed. You can do this for borders, shapes, letters, or designs. Use just enough pressure to leave a mark and not too much pressure as to leave the dots in the other areas.

Leaving your paper where it is, open the folder and impress the marks into the recessed dots using a twisting motion. Take out your cardstock and turn it over to reveal the embossed area.

I love it! Makes me chuckle.... taking our 'technology' back to 'old school' stylus embossing! Brilliant!
