I felt it was time that I needed to step out of my comfort zone! In order to do that I had to find some cards that were difficult for me to create. I have always loved the clean and simple style that Kristina Werner and Dawn McVey create. However, I really needed to study their cards, and examine what they were doing to make a card uniquely their style. So I began to ask myself what were their color choices and how did they used them in their cards. Next, what elements did they use to create their personal signature style? Both Dawn and Kristina like to use rounded corners, something I rarely use, plus they do not put many full layers on their cards, in fact heir cards are often asymmetrical. Then there are the sentiments that kind of sit out there all by themselves just to give their cards punch. I think for my first try, I did okay on the card above in replicating their style. I even took out my McCoy vase to capture Dawn's love of this beautiful pottery when I photographed the card. After all, it is all about the subtle details, often subconscious but which are the signatures that create a persons own and special style.

How would you like to win that blog candy up there?

OKAY then I want you guys to step out of your comfort zone and capture my style.....there is an element that I use quite often to give my cards punch, you have even commented on it. So, take a good look at my cards to see the repeating style that I enjoy using time and again. Then go outside the comfort level of your own style, and create a card that resembles what I do.
WHEN you have finished your creation, put it in a post on your blog with the TITLE BUTTERNUTSAGE CONTEST. Copy and Paste this blue badge at the top of your post, and make sure to leave a link to me in your post as well, so your visitors can join in the fun too!

Finally, link your direct post to MR LINKY below!

PLEASE remember your entry will only be submitted to the random integer if you have a direct link to your post so we can all see your creation, please tell others how to join the contest too! One post per reader please! QUESTION ABOUT MR.LINKY???? You just add your direct link to the URL box and sign you name! SO, have some fun and play along.....I can't wait to see your cards! I would have to say that one of the things you use to define your style is texture! It seems like you have some type of texture on almost all of your cards. I will be back later with a link once I figure out what I'm going to do. Thanks for the chance to win!

I love all the dots you incorporate in most of your projects, whether by DSP, embossing, mat pack or by hand! They all add texture and depth to your cards!

How do I define your style - purely and simple AS "STYLE". Your cards are always stylish with just the right touch of elegance! Hmmm - how do i do THAT - I need an abundance of flowers and colouring - LOL
